MPNP invites more skilled workers in the 5th draw of 2026

On 12/03/2026, Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held the latest draw, inviting candidates through the skilled worker stream.

Candidates are invited if they declared in their expression of interest profile that they were directly invited by the MPNP under a strategic recruitment initiative.

Manitoba has issued a total of 46 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) in the draw expression of interest (EOI) #266.

MPNP invited candidates through both pathways of the provincial skilled worker stream: Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas (SWO).

To receive an invitation in this draw, candidates needed to have declared in their EOI profile that they were invited by the province under a strategic recruitment initiative — or through the “Temporary public policy to facilitate the issuance of work permits for potential provincial nominee programme candidates.”

The highest number of LAAs were issued to candidates who declared they were invited under the “Employer Direct Recruitment” initiative — accounting for approximately 37% of the total LAAs.

LAA allocation by strategic recruitment initiative:

*TPP is a special measure policy issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) allowing provincial nominee programs (PNPs) to participate in nominating foreign nationals for open work permits to extend their worker status and continue to stay in Canada — Manitoba’s participation in this policy officially ended in December 2025.

Of the 46 LAAs issued, 5 LAAs were issued to candidates who declared they had a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.

Compared to the previous draw on 26/02 (EOI draw #265), Manitoba invited 72 candidates through the skilled worker stream, meaning this draw invited 36% fewer candidates. To date in 2026, the total number of LAAs issued has reached 249.

Throughout 2026 so far, the MPNP has prioritised draws through the skilled worker stream, particularly for candidates invited through strategic recruitment initiatives.

Meet the criteria but did not receive an LAA?

If an EOI profile meets the selection requirements but did not receive an LAA, the MPNP explains it may be due to the following reasons: the candidate declared they took a recognised third-party English/French test but did not provide a valid test number in the EOI profile, or the test results have expired; or the candidate declared they received an invitation from the MPNP under a strategic recruitment initiative but the number of invitations entered was invalid.
