The NB PNP invited 1,000 candidates in the third quarter of 2025

The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NB PNP) held 4 draws in the third quarter, inviting a total of 1,052 candidates to apply for provincial nomination for permanent residence.

Invitations were issued through the New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream and New Brunswick Express Entry Stream.

New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream draws

The NB PNP held 3 draws between 11 and 19 August under the New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream.

The selection point was 10 August at 11.59pm AST for all 3 draws, based on the National Occupational Classification (NOC) list specified:

• The first draw does not include candidates in the following occupations:
  • NOC 42201 – Social and community service workers.
  • NOC 75101 – Material handlers.
• The second draw (for the New Brunswick Graduate pathway) does not include candidates in the following occupations:
  • NOC 42201 – Social and community service workers.
  • NOC 62200 – Chefs.
  • NOC 75101 – Material handlers.
• The third draw (for French-speaking candidates) does not include candidates in the following occupations:
  • NOC 42201 – Social and community service workers.
  • NOC 62200 – Chefs.
  • NOC 75101 – Material handlers.

In total, 1,002 invitations to apply were issued through the New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream draws in August.

The NB PNP does not publish cut-off scores for these draws.

The New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream has changed from previous years and now has three pathways:

• New Brunswick Experience.
• New Brunswick Graduates.
• New Brunswick Priority Occupations.

New Brunswick Express Entry Stream draw

In addition to the draws mentioned above, the NB PNP held one draw under the province’s Express Entry Stream.

This is for highly skilled foreign professionals in the federal Express Entry pool who have expressed a wish to make New Brunswick their permanent home.

The draw was held between 11 and 19 August, with a cut-off date of 10 August.

50 invitations were issued to those candidates through the Employment in New Brunswick pathway.

Candidates in the following occupations were excluded from this draw:

• NOC 42201 – Social and community service workers.
• NOC 62200 – Chefs.

The Employment in New Brunswick pathway under the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream is for those who meet the following criteria:

• Are working full time for a New Brunswick employer in TEER category 0, 1, 2 or 3;
• Have worked full time for the past 12 months in TEER category 0, 1, 2 or 3 for a New Brunswick employer; and
• Have lived in New Brunswick for the past 12 months.

Again, no cut-off score was published for this draw.

New Brunswick draws in 2025

In 2025, New Brunswick has issued a total of 3,067 invitations to date.

New Brunswick received a nomination allocation of 1,500 for its PNP in February 2025. In June, the province negotiated a further 1,500 nomination places for the PNP, bringing the total nomination allocation for the PNP in 2025 to 3,000.

It is worth noting that nomination places are not always equal to invitations.

Provinces often issue more invitations than their annual allocation to account for candidates who decline, withdraw or fail to meet the requirements.

As a result, the number of invitations issued is usually higher than the number of nominations.
