NBPNP Express Entry

New Brunswick Express Entry (NBPNP Express Entry) is designed for foreign workers in the federal Express Entry pool.

Overview

The New Brunswick Express Entry Stream (NBPNP Express Entry) is a stream of theNew Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)combined with the federalExpress Entrysystem. This programme is designed for highly skilled foreign individuals in the federal Express Entry pool.

These individuals are seeking to make New Brunswick their permanent home and to contribute to the province’s development. A nomination from the province of New Brunswick increases the chance of receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residence fromImmigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Eligibility

You may receive an invitation to apply under NBPNP Express Entry if you meet one of the following criteria:

• Employment in New Brunswick
• You have been living in New Brunswick and working full-time in a position classified under TEER category 0, 1, 2 or 3 of theNational Occupational Classification (NOC)for a New Brunswick employer for the past 12 continuous months.
• New Brunswick Interests.
• You have received a letter of interest in your federal Express Entry profile.

Meeting the invitation criteria does not guarantee that you will receive an invitation to apply or be nominated. Other conditions may apply.

Applying

You submit the expression of interest (EOI) and the subsequent application (if invited) through theINB portal.

Required forms

• NB-005 – Consent and Declaration for use of NBPNP services.

Forms that are not required:

• NB-004 – NBPNP Employment Information
• NB-007 – NBPNP Use of a Representative
• IMM-5409e – Statutory declaration of common-law union
• IMM-5604e – Declaration from a non-accompanying parent/guardian for minors immigrating to Canada

After being nominated

Once nominated by the NBPNP, you receive a message in your secure IRCC account asking whether you wish to accept or decline the nomination. If you accept, 600 points are added to yourComprehensive Ranking System (CRS)score. You are then invited to apply for permanent residence in the next round of invitations.

Updates

The New Brunswick Express Entry Stream has changed from previous years and now comprises 2 separate pathways:

• Employment in New Brunswick.
• New Brunswick Interests.

Note: the New Brunswick Student Connection Stream will not end in 2025. Eligible New Brunswick graduates with valid employment are still invited to apply under the New Brunswick Employment Pathway of the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream. These graduates may also explore other pathways available under theNew Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream.

At this time, New Brunswick Immigration is not considering any expression of interest (EOI) with employment or a job offer under the following NOC codes:

• Accounting technicians and bookkeepers (NOC 12200)
• Administrative assistants (NOC 13110)
• Retail and wholesale trade managers (NOC 60020)
• Restaurant and food service managers (NOC 60030)
• Retail supervisors (NOC 62010)
• Food service supervisors (NOC 62020)
• Cooks (NOC 63200)
• Bakers (NOC 63202)

Please note that EOIs submitted to the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream are placed in a pool and remain valid for 365 days. They are not processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

New Brunswick Immigration reviews the EOIs submitted and issues invitations to apply (ITAs) only to individuals selected through scheduled rounds.

Before submitting an EOI, review carefully the updated eligibility criteria and the NOC restrictions for your chosen pathway.
