MPNP invites skilled workers in the province's latest draw

On 15/01/2025, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held its first immigration draw of the year, inviting candidates through the province’s Skilled Worker stream.

Candidates were invited if they indicated they had been directly invited by the MPNP as part of a strategic recruitment mission.

Draw results

Manitoba issued a total of 55 Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) in the province’s first draw of 2026.

The MPNP invited candidates through both pathways of the province’s Skilled Worker stream:

• Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream;
• Skilled Worker Overseas stream.

To receive an invitation in this draw, candidates had to declare in their expression of interest (EOI) profile that they had been invited by the province under a strategic recruitment initiative.

The largest number of LAAs went to candidates declaring an invitation under the “Employer Services” recruitment initiative—accounting for around 38% of LAAs.

The distribution of LAAs by strategic recruitment initiative was as follows:

Of the 55 LAAs issued in EOI draw no. 262, 10 went to candidates declaring a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.

For comparison, Manitoba’s first draw of 2025 (EOI draw no. 236) saw 197 candidates invited through the Skilled Worker stream on 09/01, indicating a slower—and later—start for the province this year.

I meet the selection criteria – why did I not receive an LAA?

If candidates believe their EOI met the selection requirements but did not receive an LAA, the MPNP explains that this may be because:

• The candidate indicated that they had taken an approved third-party English or French test but did not provide a valid test number in their EOI, or the test results had expired; or
• The candidate stated that they had received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the MPNP under a strategic recruitment initiative, but the invitation number entered was invalid.
