MPNP invites skilled workers in its late-January immigration draw

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has invited more skilled workers to apply for provincial nomination in the province’s latest draw.

Candidates were selected for having declared receipt of an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from the MPNP under a strategic recruitment initiative in their expression of interest (EOI) profile.

This is Manitoba’s second provincial immigration draw of the year.

On 29/01, the MPNP issued 47 Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) for profiles submitted under the Skilled Worker stream, through one of the following two pathways:

• The Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream;
• The Skilled Workers Overseas stream.

The distribution of LAAs to candidates who indicated they had been invited by the MPNP under a strategic recruitment mission is set out below:

Of the 47 LAAs issued to skilled workers in Manitoba and overseas in EOI draw no. 263, 6 went to candidates declaring a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

So far in 2026, the province has issued 102 LAAs for provincial nomination across two draws—both of which prioritised invitations for candidates under the Employer Services recruitment initiative.

This draw follows a consistent trend in Manitoba’s candidate selection, as the province’s most frequently held draws focus on skilled workers invited under recruitment initiatives, as against invitations under other streams (for example, the The Manitoba International Education Stream).

Manitoba notes that this draw included the selection of candidates who, in their EOI profile, are working in a regulated occupation and fully licensed to work, but the province reserves the right to refuse applications from those who:

• Are not in fact working in a regulated occupation; and/or
• Do not provide evidence to support that they have gone through all the steps necessary to be employed in the province.

If candidates fall into either category, they may wish to decline their LAA, as the MPNP charges a non-refundable application fee of US$500.

How to apply

Individuals who receive an LAA from Manitoba have 60 days from the date of receipt to submit a complete application.

Applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis against the information on the province’s website at the time the application is received.

A complete application must include all documents required for assessment (in pdf or .jpg format, smaller than 2 MB)—all documents must be in English or French.

If the original document is not in English or French, applicants must submit a notarised copy of the original, together with a certified translation carried out by a qualified translator.

All statements made in a candidate’s EOI profile must be substantiated by supporting documents.

Once applicants have completed all the application pages and uploaded the required documents, they must pay the US$500 fee and submit their application through the MPNP Online portal.

The MPNP will email the MPNP application registration number to those whose transaction is approved within 48 hours.

Applicants can use the MPNP Online portal to check the status of their application, update information, add dependants or upload additional documents where needed.
