PEI PNP Results #11 – 2025

This week, Prince Edward Island held an unexpected results draw, breaking the scheduled results release calendar to issue invitations to candidates under the Labour and Express Entry streams of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).

Invitations were sent to international students from the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), Holland College, and Collège de l’Île, who are currently living and working in Prince Edward Island.

PEI PNP results

On 27 October 2025, Prince Edward Island announced results under the Labour stream and Express Entry, issuing 159 invitations to eligible candidates.

This draw targeted international graduates currently employed in the province due to their strong connection to the Prince Edward Island labour market, as demonstrated by their local education and work experience.

To date, 1,240 invitations have been issued through the PEI PNP in 2025.

Processing via PEI PNP

Under other Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) streams, eligible candidates for the PEI PNP first submit a candidate profile via the province’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system.

If a candidate’s profile is selected, they are invited to apply (in the process above) to receive a provincial nomination from the province. If successful, they receive a provincial nomination from PEI. After receiving the provincial nomination, the candidate will apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residence (PR).

This entire process can take over one year, depending on the processing times of the province and IRCC. Some PNP streams (such as the PEI Express Entry stream) are Labour-linked and aligned with Express Entry (or enhanced), allowing nominees to benefit from faster processing times for their PR application.

PEI ITA schedule

Prince Edward Island stands out among Canadian provinces for maintaining a public schedule Invitation to Apply (ITA) for its PNP draws.

Although subject to change based on provincial needs, the PEI PNP ITA schedule provides a level of transparency for candidates in the EOI pool. The province uses this management approach to ensure consistent processing times and to align draw frequency with provincial labour market priorities.

The 27 October 2025 draw marks a departure from the published schedule and is the second PEI PNP draw in one month – the first time this has occurred this year.

While the PEI Office of Immigration notes that the projected ITA schedule is provided for information purposes only and does not guarantee selection or timing, today’s draw indicates that the province is seeking to accelerate the intake of new permanent residents compared to the previously published schedule.

How the PEI Expression of Interest (EOI) system works

The new PEI PNP uses an EOI system to identify and rank candidates most likely to contribute to the province’s economy and labour market. The system evaluates profiles based on various selection factors, including the following.

• Language: Proficiency in English or French.
• Education: Level, field, and location of study.
• Skills and work experience: Related to in-demand sectors.
• Strategic priorities: Alignment with PEI’s immediate labour market needs.
• Employment prospects: Factors such as a valid job offer in PEI and/or previous Canadian work experience.

Candidates who score highly in the EOI system and demonstrate strong potential for settlement are more likely to be invited to apply for a nomination.
