AAIP Results #17-18-19 – 2025

Over a one-week period, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) conducted 3 draws, one of which was the second largest of 2025 to date.

Among those invited were Express Entry candidates in tech occupations, and in-demand sectors prioritised by the province.

Summary of draws

Between 1 October and 7 October, Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) issued a total of 1,324 Invitation to Apply (ITA) across 3 immigration streams:

In line with 2025 draw trends, Alberta Opportunity Stream accounted for the highest number of invitations issued by the province.

So far this year, Alberta has held

• 6 draws via Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Occupations (Construction).
• 7 draws via the Alberta Express Entry Stream – Accelerated Tech Pathway.
• 10 draws announced through the Alberta Opportunity Stream.

Alberta Opportunity Stream: For temporary foreign workers currently working full-time in Alberta with a qualifying full-time job offer from a qualifying Alberta employer.

Accelerated Tech Pathway under Express Entry: For qualified tech professionals working in Alberta or holding a valid job offer in a qualifying tech occupation in the province.

Priority Occupations (Construction) under Express Entry: For qualified professionals in the construction industry who list a qualifying construction occupation as their primary occupation in their Express Entry profile—and may have a job offer in Alberta in this industry.
Under Alberta’s Express Entry-aligned streams, candidates must meet the system requirements Express Entry federal system.

Increased nomination allocations

On 9 September, the Government of Alberta announced that it received an increase of 1,528 nominations under the AAIP.

The total AAIP nomination allocation for 2025 is now 6,403—up from 4,875 in January.
According to the province, this expansion will enhance the ability to address regional labour market needs and support key economic priorities.

As a result of this increase in nomination allocation, the province has reallocated nominations to various streams.

As of 10 October, the AAIP has issued a total of 4,228 nominations out of a total allocation of 6,403 for 2025.

Alberta has 2,175 nomination spots remaining for the rest of the year.
