NB PNP conducts invitation round targeting diverse candidates

On 2 February, the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NB PNP) held two draws, issuing more than 300 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for provincial nomination.

The province invited candidates through two provincial immigration streams, focusing on French speakers who are already working in NB or have an eligible job offer, as well as eligible graduates or Expression of Interest recipients.

To be considered in either draw, candidates were required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the province before 11.59pm (UTC-04:00) on 1 February 2026.

This week, New Brunswick issued a total of 326 ITAs for provincial nomination across immigration streams New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NB PNP) sau:

• Stream Express Entry New Brunswick; and
• Stream New Brunswick Strategic Initiative.

NB PNP Express Entry

Selection under this stream accounted for a slightly larger share of the invitations issued.

*Candidates should note that the province stated in its 3 February announcement that it will not consider any EOIs or issue invitations to individuals working directly in accommodation and food services (NAICS 72) under this stream in future draws.

About this pathway:

To be selected under the New Brunswick employment pathway, candidates must:

• Be currently working for an in-province employer in a TEER TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 position full-time;
• Have worked in New Brunswick during the past 12 months in a TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 position for an employer in the province (the same as or different from the employer above); and
  • Candidates must hold a valid work permit in Canada during this period.
• Have resided in the province for the past 12 months.

Because this is an aligned stream Express Entry, candidates who receive a provincial nomination can receive an additional 600 points The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) towards their federal Express Entry profile.

NB PNP Strategic Initiative stream

Under this stream, regardless of the pathway, candidates must demonstrate that they achieve at least NCLC level 5 across all four language skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening).

NB PNP Francophone Priority pathway

As a French speaker, candidates may be invited under this pathway if they meet one of the conditions listed below:

• The candidate currently resides in New Brunswick and has completed an in-person study programme (minimum duration of one year) at Université de Moncton or Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB); or
• The candidate has received a Letter of Interest from New Brunswick Immigration.

About the Francophone worker pathway

French speakers may be considered through this pathway if they are currently working in a permanent, full-time position with an employer in the province (or have accepted a job offer for such a position), and:

• Have lived in New Brunswick for at least six months; or
• Have received a job offer through a recruitment mission led by the Government of New Brunswick.
