PEI PNP Results #10 – 2025

On 17 October 2025, Prince Edward Island held its 10th draw of the year under the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Programme (PEI PNP), inviting 160 skilled workers to apply for provincial nomination.

The focus is on candidates with job offers from PEI employers and international graduates from accredited institutions, including UPEI, Holland College and Collège de l’Île. This draw reflects PEI’s strategic approach to meeting labour market needs and strengthening the economy by attracting skilled professionals in high-demand sectors.

In 2025, the province has issued a total of 1,080 invitations to skilled workers through regular PNP draws, along with one business candidate. The next draw is scheduled for 20 November 2025, continuing PEI’s efforts to balance economic growth with the need for a skilled workforce.

Priority sectors and selection criteria

PEI focuses on candidates who can make an immediate economic impact. Skilled workers in healthcare, trades, manufacturing, and other priority sectors are preferred. Candidates in sales and service sectors may not receive invitations at this time.

Selection criteria include:

• English or French language proficiency
• Education level, field of study, and educational institution
• Work experience and relevant skills
• Strategic priorities aligned with PEI labour market needs
• A job offer from a PEI employer or previous Canadian work experience

How the expression of interest system works

Expression of Interest (EOI) System The province collects information from potential candidates and ranks them based on attributes relevant to PEI labour force needs. An Expression of Interest (EOI) is not a formal application but a signal of interest in being considered for a nomination. The province reserves the right to limit intake or exclude certain candidates depending on labour priorities.

EOI draw results, such as the October round, highlight PEI’s commitment to attracting international talent while ensuring skilled professionals meet the province’s specific economic needs.

Recent trends in the PEI PNP

Reviewing the 2025 draw results, PEI has consistently prioritised candidates who already have connections to the province, whether through employment or education. For example:

• February 2025: 87 invitations issued to candidates with at least one year of work experience in PEI
• April 2025: 168 invitations focused on PEI employers and international graduates
• October 2025: 160 invitations highlighting high-demand sectors

This structured approach helps the province maintain a balanced, skilled, and sustainable workforce.
