Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued further invitations to apply (ITAs) through the system Express Entry.

Express Entry has issued 5,000 invitation to apply (ITA) in a draw for candidates participating in Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

To be considered for this draw, candidates were required to have:

• The minimum The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) a minimum of 515;
• Create an Express Entry candidate profile before 6:58 pm (UTC) on 9 September 2025.

Today’s draw is the second CEC draw in just a few weeks, with the department having issued 11,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) during that period.

Typically, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) holds Express Entry draws every other week, meaning today’s draw is a welcome surprise.

This pattern not only breaks the usual rhythm of Express Entry draws, but also the recent trend of CEC draws, which have featured high CRS scores alongside only 1,000 Invitations to Apply. The reduction in the CRS score for today’s draw represents a new low for 2025 CEC draws.

Previously, the lowest CRS score for the programme was 518 points. This is the fifth Express Entry draw of December. It follows the draw Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) on 15 December, the healthcare and social services occupation-specific draw on 11 December, and the largest Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw in the past 16 months on 10 December.

To date, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 111,998 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry system in 2025.

Express Entry draws this year have primarily focused on Provincial Nominee Program draws, with the remainder of Express Entry invitations reserved for Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates, French-language proficiency candidates, and those in priority Express Entry occupation groups.
