AAIP Results #25 and #26 – 2025

Last week, Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) announced a total of 1,125 Invitations to Apply (ITA) for provincial nomination through two result releases.

Candidates were selected based on a combination of the following factors: established ties to Alberta, ranking under the AAIP points system, or professional experience in priority healthcare occupations.

AAIP Results (10–14 November 2025)

The AAIP has announced invitations through two different streams, with varying scores and volumes:

The AAIP result release on 10 November marks the second-largest selection held by the AAIP this year (and the largest since 12 September), as the province invited 1,113 candidates to apply for provincial nomination.

Alberta Opportunity Stream is an immigration pathway under the AAIP for temporary foreign workers who have been living and working full-time in Alberta.

To be eligible, candidates must have a full-time job offer from an Alberta employer in an eligible occupation, possess a valid work permit, and meet minimum criteria regarding residency, occupation, language, education, work experience in Alberta, and job offer conditions.

Among all AAIP immigration streams, the Alberta Opportunity Stream has the largest nomination allocation, totalling more than 3,656 spots.

As of 19 November, the province has announced 3,120 nominations through this pathway, with 536 nomination spots remaining from the 2025 allocation. The AAIP still has 1,100 applications pending in the queue for the Alberta Opportunity Stream.

On 14 November, the AAIP held another immigration selection under the Express Entry Albertastream, focusing on priority sectors—specifically healthcare.

This is the second such result release to take place this year. As of the time of writing, the AAIP has announced 494 nominations through priority sector result releases under the Alberta Express Entry stream.

These result releases have a total allocation of 660 nomination spots in 2025. The Alberta Express Entry stream is an enhanced Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP) pathway, meaning it is linked to Express Entry.

In practice, the AAIP can nominate eligible candidates from the Express Entry list through this pathway, allowing them to settle in the province if the nomination is approved.

Within the Express Entry stream, there is a dedicated pathway for professionals with experience in sectors currently in demand in the Alberta economy, including construction, aviation, agriculture, and healthcare.

This complements the dedicated pathways the province operates under the Express Entry stream for law enforcement, technology, and healthcare personnel.

Increased AAIP nominations in 2025

Increased 2025 nomination spots: The AAIP recently received an increase in its provincial nomination quota from the federal government for 2025, adding 1,728 spots to the previous limit of 4,875 nominations, for a new total of 6,603 nominations.

With this increase, Alberta has recovered approximately 67% of its 2024 allocation of 9,750 nominations, partially restoring capacity following last year’s cuts.

The province has clarified that this allocation will not carry over into 2026, implying that the AAIP will need to utilise this increase throughout the remainder of the year through more immigration result releases.
