Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued a further invitation to apply (ITA) through the Express Entry.

The immigration department issued 4,500 ITAs in a draw for candidates with French language proficiency.

To be considered in this draw, candidates needed:

• A Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 432
• To have created an Express Entry profile before 7:07pm Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) on 13 June 2025.

Summary of Express Entry draws in 2025

Today’s Express Entry draw is the largest since 4 September, when IRCC held another draw of 4,500 ITAs for French-speaking candidates. French category-based draws have seen the largest draw sizes of any draw type in 2025, most notably the round of 7,500 invitations held on 21 March this year.

French-speaking candidates have also received the largest number of ITAs of any group under the Express Entry system this year, with 30,000 invitations as at today’s draw.

IRCC’s targets for French-speaking immigration outside Quebec (supported mainly by the Express Entry French language proficiency category) are set to rise next year, a change that could lead to more French draws through the Express Entry system.

Today’s draw is also the second of October, and follows the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw of 1 October, the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw of 29 September, and the Trades category draw of 18 September.

2025 in review so far

To date, IRCC has issued 70,338 ITAs through the Express Entry system in 2025.

This year’s Express Entry draws have focused mainly on PNP rounds, with the remaining ITAs going to CEC candidates, candidates with French language proficiency, and those in the Express Entry priority occupation categories:
