This week, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Programme (BC PNP) held another selection round targeting entrepreneurs for provincial nomination.

Invitations were issued to candidates through two streams under the province’s Entrepreneur Immigration category.

BC PNP Results

On 16 December 2025, British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) targeting candidates for provincial nomination through both entrepreneur immigration streams:

• Base Stream
• Regional Stream

Most invitations were issued through the Base Stream, as is typical in 2025 during rounds targeting both streams.

In total, no more than 21 invitations were issued across both streams, with minimum scores varying by stream:

This round is the province’s second-largest Entrepreneur Immigration selection round of 2025 and the second-highest invitation round for the Base Entrepreneur Stream this year.

British Columbia Entrepreneur Immigration Category

The BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration category is for foreign entrepreneurs who wish to establish a new business or purchase and manage an existing business in British Columbia.

The programme streams differ in eligibility criteria and conditions, including (but not limited to) minimum net worth, required investment amount, and ownership thresholds.

To be eligible for the Base Entrepreneur Stream, candidates must score at least 115 points. For the Regional Entrepreneur Stream, the minimum required score is 105.

Base Entrepreneur Stream: For entrepreneurs planning to start a new business or take over and manage an existing business anywhere in British Columbia.

Regional Entrepreneur Stream: Designed for entrepreneurs planning to establish a new business in one of BC’s participating smaller communities, grouped by regional development area.

In both cases, candidates are required to create at least one full-time equivalent job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

How many invitations has the BC PNP issued in 2025?

In 2025, the BC PNP held a total of 19 provincial immigration rounds, targeting candidates through two categories: Skills Immigration and Entrepreneur Immigration.

Most of British Columbia’s announcements this year targeted entrepreneurs; however, the majority of invitations were issued through the skills category.

Below is the number of BC PNP announcements this year by category and the total number of invitations issued to date for each category:

Skills category: 978 invitations issued across three rounds.

Entrepreneur category: No more than 132 invitations issued across 16 rounds.

• Base Entrepreneur Stream: No more than 97 invitations issued.
• Regional Entrepreneur Stream: No more than 35 invitations issued.

British Columbia began the year with 4,000 nomination spots (a decrease from 8,000 in 2024) after the federal government cut nomination allocations by 50% – as it did with most provinces and territories.

But after successfully lobbying the government to increase the 2025 nomination allocation, British Columbia was granted additional nomination spots – twice – and has recovered approximately 77% of its 2024 allocation.

The first increase was announced on 2 October with a total of 1,254 additional nominations; the second on 15 December, when the province was granted an additional 960 nomination spots.

British Columbia intends to use its full allocation of 6,214 spots by the end of the year.
