AAIP issues over 1,100 invitations across four draw announcements

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has announced details of its latest provincial immigration draws, held between 26/01 and 02/02/2026.

During this period, Alberta issued 1,169 invitations via:

• Dedicated healthcare pathways (Express Entry and non-Express Entry);
• The Accelerated Tech Pathway of the Alberta Express Entry Stream; and
• The Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS).

Summary of AAIP draws (26/01–02/02)

Results of the most recent draw by Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) show that four invitation rounds took place in one week.

The largest draw within this date range was Alberta’s selection on 02/02 via Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS), accounting for 78% of the invitations issued.

Notably, the lowest cut-off score during this period occurred in the non-Express Entry dedicated healthcare draw on 27/01, with a minimum score of 45.

Selection priorities and approaches for 2026

As of the most recent update, Alberta stated that 2026 AAIP draws and nominations will prioritise occupations tied to healthcare, technology, construction, manufacturing, aviation and agriculture, as well as communities designated under Rural Renewal Stream.

However, the province noted that it may issue invitations outside these designated priorities.

The province also emphasised that draws are not scheduled and the published minimum score is not the sole selection factor—other factors may include:

• Work experience in a priority occupation;
• Working as a licensed physician in Alberta; or
• Being a French-speaking new arrival seeking to immigrate to the province.

Provincial nomination figures

Alberta reported a 2026 nomination allocation of 6,403, with 405 nominations issued and 5,964 spaces remaining as of 05/02/2026.

To date, the majority of nominations issued have been through the Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS).

Alberta also noted that up to 10,000 federal immigration spaces are available across all Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) for practice-ready physicians and French speakers who meet federal criteria—and AAIP nominations issued under that initiative in 2026 will not count towards Alberta’s allocation of 6,403.
