The TCFQ (Test de connaissance du français pour le Québec) is a test designed specifically for those wishing to immigrate to Quebec.
Although the TCFQ is aimed more directly at Quebec immigration, candidates may choose to take the TCF or any other French language test approved by the Quebec government.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) about the TCF
To earn points for French-language proficiency under the Quebec Skilled Worker Programme, individuals applying to immigrate to Quebec must demonstrate their language ability by submitting results from a French-language test approved by the Quebec Ministry of Immigration. Candidates may choose to sit the TCF/TCFQ or another approved French-language test.
Candidates must take the Listening and Speaking sections. The Writing and Reading sections are not mandatory, but additional points are available for them.
The cost of the test depends on where it is taken. Contact the test centre for specific prices athere.
If you sit the TCF, the compulsory sections take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. The optional sections take approximately 2 hours. If you sit the TCFQ, the test takes approximately 45 minutes.
Test results are issued approximately 3 weeks after the test date.
Candidates may retake the test as many times as needed, but must leave a 30-day interval between test sittings.
TEF and TEFaQ results are valid for two years from the test date.
