Document certification
Documents specified for submission as a Certified Copy must be a true certified copy of the original. Where the true certified copy is completed by a Maltese lawyer, no further legalisation is required.
Where one is done outside Malta, the true certified copy must also be apostilled or consularly legalised (by the relevant Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the relevant Maltese Consulate/Embassy).
Translating documents
Any document not in English, or containing any non-English element, must be translated into English. Where the translation is done in Malta, no further legalisation is required.
Where the translation is done outside Malta, the certified translation must also be consularly legalised (by the relevant Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the relevant Maltese Consulate/Embassy).
