Programmes of study in British Columbia eligible for immigration

The programmes of study eligible for the International Post-Graduate stream include Express Entry British Columbia.

The tables below identify the programmes of study in the natural, health and applied sciences eligible for consideration under the International Post-Graduate stream of theBritish Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).

Completing a programme on this list does not guarantee a nomination under the International Post-Graduate stream. Inclusion on this list means only that the programme is in an eligible field of study and is (or was) offered by an authorised institution in British Columbia.

The candidate’s programme of study must also meet all the other requirements of the International Post-Graduate category. For example, a candidate’s qualification is not eligible where it is a distance learning programme. A distance learning programme is a programme of study in which the majority of the credits earned by the student to complete the programme are taken through online courses.

Prospective students should also note that inclusion on this list does not necessarily mean that the programme is currently offered. To confirm a programme’s current status, consult the post-secondary institution offering it.

There is no restriction on the field of study for doctoral degrees completed at public post-secondary institutions in British Columbia. However, regulated or professional doctorates, such as the Juris Doctor (J.D.) and the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), are not eligible.

Where a candidate has achieved candidacy status in a doctoral programme in any field of study at a public post-secondary institution in British Columbia, they may also be eligible.

Where a candidate’s master’s-level programme of study is not listed in this document, that programme is not eligible for the BC PNP International Post-Graduate stream. The candidate may be eligible for the International Graduate stream.
