Citizenship by Investment (CBI) is a programme where a country grants citizenship and a passport to a foreign investor in exchange for a significant economic contribution.
Unlike traditional naturalisation, which requires many years of residency, CBI programmes typically do not require the applicant to live in that country. Investors can maintain their current lifestyle while holding a new citizenship.
Investments are usually made through one of these channels: a non-refundable contribution to a national development fund, the purchase of government-approved real estate, or an investment in government bonds. Each programme sets its own thresholds and categories.
Popular CBI destinations include Caribbean nations such as Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Lucia, among others. The resulting passport often allows visa-free travel to many countries and territories.
All CBI applicants must pass a rigorous background check before approval. Find more details on our page citizenship by investment services of Prosperous Living Investment.
